Maryam Nemazie is an attorney with Inhouse Co. in both its litigation and transactional departments. Ms. Nemazie performs legal research, drafts documents, assists with client counseling, prepares discovery and engages in trial preparation.
Ms. Nemazie graduated from the LL.M. Program in Intellectual Property at Santa Clara University School of Law. During her LL.M. Program, Ms. Nemazie focused on expanding her knowledge of newly developing areas pertaining to high tech law. Ms. Nemazie received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Genetic Engineering and Assisted Reproduction.
Additionally, Ms. Nemazie had the privilege of clerking for the Honorable Katherine Lucero, Supervising Judge in Santa Clara County's Juvenile Dependency Court. During her time as a judicial clerk, Ms. Nemazie gained substantial experience in Juvenile Dependency Law and legal issues involving immigrant children. Ms. Nemazie also clerked for the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office, where she drafted appellate briefs, interviewed clients, and created investigative reports.
While in law school at Seattle University, Ms. Nemazie worked with Washington Lawyers for the Arts at the Ronald A. Peterson Law Clinic where she advised clients on copyright and trademark issues including registration and infringement. In addition to client counseling experience, Ms. Nemazie gained extensive legal writing skills while serving as an extern at the San Jose City Attorney Richard Doyle's Office where she drafted legislative bill summaries and revised city ordinances. Ms. Nemazie also worked as an Intellectual Property Research Assistant for Professor Sean Pager where she obtained research on patent systems in developing countries. Ms. Nemazie's research and editing assistance were acknowledged in two of Professor Pager's published articles.
Ms. Nemazie is a volunteer attorney at Pro Bono Project and a participant in fundraising events for the Rotary Club of Los Gatos.
